Client study - Private work
Sometimes I have the need to create items other than for a client. The reasons can be varied; a whim, teaching myself new software or trying out new techniques.
Listed below and pictured on the right are a few pices done using a variety of products and styles with a small description about how they were done and, sometimes, why.
Volvo Pegasus wheel
While teaching myself 3d Studio Max I needed something to model. A wheel is a good starting point as it uses a variety of tools such as rotational copying, skills like smooth curves and crisp edges plus has a good selection of materials; metal, plastic and rubber.
I chose the Pegasus as it is one of my favourite wheels. It is simple yet elegant and looks quite aggressive on the right vehicle.
Volvo S60 vector
Sticking with the Volvo theme this is a drawing I created as a walpaper for a Volvo website.
It was made using Adobe Illustrator and features three different line weights: Heavy for main outline, medium for major panel edges and light for swage lines and minor joins.
The wallpaper version can be downloaded here.
Vector Portrait
Again staying with a theme, this time vector art. Vector portraits have been
popular for a number of years and styles vary between artists. They can range
from little more than silhouettes to rotoscoped figures such as those seen
on A Scanner
Darkly
This drawing was done using a select pallette of colours balancing simplicity with detail.
creatopia website
The news that this site was not created by an external design company will not come as a surprise.
This is now the fourth iteration of the creatopia website. It has grown and developed along side the company. A write up of some of the more interesting challenges can be found in the 'Behind the Scenes' page.
For obvious reasons I have not included an image of this.
