Client study - CBP Training
CBP Training specialise in both the teaching of Neurolingistic Programming and the training of NLP trainers. They run regular courses and accredited programmes for a variety of levels.
CBP Training approached a number design companies to help them create a uniformed corporate identity followed by a website and other promotional material. They were pleased with the input and quote from creatopia and gave us the contract.
Corporate Identity
The first step was to create a logo. Within my initial response I had included a few rough logo ideas based around the initials CBP. One of these showed promise in the eyes of the client. It went through a series of tweaks and refinements with feedback and comment from the guys at CBP before we had finalised logo everyone was happy with.
While we were pleased with the ideogram the accompianing text needed work. Eventually after trying scores of fonts, weights and spacing we had a complete logo.
Website
Next on the list was the creation of the website. While the CBP team worked on getting together some content for the site I worked on the look.
As the full identity was not in place at this time it was a good excuse to develop both at the same time. I had a logo to work with in a selection of colours which the clients had expressed a preference.
My contact a CBP was keen to avoid what he called 'the hot air ballon'. When a company deals with something that is not a tangible commodity, such as Neurolinguistic Programming, it is difficult to find suitable imagery. Many similar companies resort to 'inspirational' photographs such as hot air balloons floating through a clear blue sky. They wanted something better.
As I had no product I decided to be more esoteric. Using a couple of programs I created an abstract image evoking Thought and Awakening Neurons. As blue was one of the preferred colours of the logo so a nice contrasting red was picked for the image and highlighting on the website.
The client was very happy with the result and the full Id was complete.
A mockup of a page from the website was laid out in Photoshop using the new colours and style, then sent to the client who approved it straight away. The coding could then begin on the site itself.
Extra marketing material
The client required some extra support items for an upcoming exhibition. Specifically some postcards to use as hand-outs and a roll-up banner for their stand.
They had their own supplier for both products so I only needed to worry about creating the artwork. I was given a decent brief on the content for each item and, in the case of the roller banner, the dimensions.
The design naturally follwed the new identity with blue bars top and bottom with the logo reversed out and the now familiar 'neuro' swoosh.
Again the client was overjoyed with the result.
